East Fife welcomed a Hibs side in confident form and pushing for promotion to the SWPL2.
After putting together a good run of form over the past three weeks, East Fife looked to avenge the 5-0 defeat to Hibs in the first half of the season at Tranent.
Hibs went ahead after a contentious offside decision.
A switch of play released their striker through on goal and she finished calmly into the bottom corner with the Fifers reeling with what seemed a poor call.
The Fife defence and midfield were coping well with the constant probing and running off the ball and looked to counter at every opportunity.
It was a counter attack that brought the Fife goal.
A ball played in to the feet of Wheatley from defence was played wide to Skivington.
Wheatley continued her run in to the box and was found again by Skivington with a great cut back and her low right footed shot flashed past the keeper into the bottom corner.
With 20minutes to go, East Fife looked to continue with the game plan that had served them well, and ensured Hibs had no further chances on goal.
Player/boss Liz Anderson said: “I am really proud of the girls and the way we stuck to our game plan and frustrated Hibs.
“We now have four games to go and can look forward to them all knowing that we are defending very well and taking our chances, something that we relly struggled with especially during the first two thirds of the season.”
