DUNDONALD BLUEBELL 5 EDINBURGH UNITED 1
Dundonald faced an Edinburgh side who are struggling to find their form this season.
The home side added to their troubles when Duffy scored with a penalty after Meilke was fouled inside the box.
Lawrie could have added another but he let the ball run out after he rounded the ‘keeper.
Edinburgh drew level with a super strike that gave Dundonald goalkeeper, Lennox, no chance
Lawrie thought he had put the home side back in front but his header was well saved.
Meilke did Dundonald ahead when he fired the ball into the net after a great solo run.
The home side could have put this game out of Edinburgh’s reach within the first five minutes of the restart but Lawrie saw his goal bound shot blocked then Hendry had his header cleared off the line.
The visitors had the chance to draw level from the penalty spot but Lennox made a fine save.
Bluebell increased their lead when Meilke was brought down, again, inside the box and Lawrie made no mistake with his spot kick.
Anthony scored with header to make it four and Meilke got his second and Dundonald’s fifth when Hendry left him with an easy chance after he had made a great run from his own half.
Dundonald were always in control of this match and will be happy with their second half performance when they played well and could have won by more.
The management team will be pleased that in the last few game the team has started to play better football.
All they needed to do now is finish teams off when they are on top.
This Saturday Dundonald welcome West Calder to Moorside Park for a Fife & Lothians Cup tie.
Kick-off is 2.30 p.m.
