Local football fixtures were almost entirely wiped out at the weekend as sodden pitches made games unplayable.

Thornton Hibs, Dundonald Bluebell and Burntisland Shipyard were all left without a fixture.

Just Kirkcaldy YM were in action.

Montrose Roselea bagged the three points in their home clash against YM, though.

The home side considered it a ‘must win’ game due to them starting the match five points behind the visitors.

After falling behind to an O’Neill penalty that could have resulted in a red card for ‘keeper Mcleod, Roselea led 2-1 at half time thanks to goals from Dale Ried and Paul Whyte.

Kirkcaldy equalised with a great 25 yard strike from Orrock.

Roselea missed chances before YM hit the post then goals from Crucikshank and Reid sealed a 4-2 win.

This week Kirkcaldy kick-off the first of two home games when they host Arniston Rangers.

The week after the Denfield club will welcome Livingston United.

Thornton Hibs were also left without a game on Saturday but will return to League duty this weekend.

Craig Gilbert’s men will face Dundee North End.

Burntisland Shipyard, who had their King Cup match with Coldstream postponed, will travel to face Hibernian EOS at the weekend.

Dundonald, who were paired with either Dalry or Cumbernauld in the fifth round of the Scottish Cup this week, will travel to Tranent.
