The 26-year old left Stark's Park in 2017 to join Hearts having made over 130 appearances for Rovers.

A product of the club's youth system, the Edinburgh native had just one season at Tynecastle before moving on to fellow Premiership side St Johnstone.

He was on the look out for a new club after his release from the Perth side this summer having joined Dundee on-loan in January.

Callachan wasn't a free agent for long though and was snapped up by Accies with their manager Brian Rice telling the club website: “Ross is a player I have been watching a while, he’s a box to box midfielder who gets in the box and scores goals, there’s not many of them going about. He’s one of these players that will clear a ball at one end and score in the other. I believe Ross is one the fans will take to.”
