Glenrothes 1-6 Hill of Beath

Forbes scores the only of the game for Glenrothes.

Glens had Mark McDonald making his debut after a long injury.

The hosts won the first free kick which was well defended.

Scott Napier won a header in midfield which found player manager John Martin but he mis hit his shot.

Glens Forbes got his first crack with a free kick but could only watch as his shot slipped past the post.

Hill of Beath broke the deadlock after 12 minutes when Reid converted a penalty.

On 18 minutes Glenrothes won their first corner of the game, which when taken found the head of Napier only to see his effort headed off the line.

Glens were now moving into a period of dominance Which saw several corners won but they could not take advantage.

Glens won a free kick just outside the box which Hall saved well from Smith.

Another effort from Anderson went just wide.

Small had a good save from an effort by Hay.

Glenrothes equalised in the 38th minute when Martin made a darting run into the box and was brought down unceremoniously by the Hill of Beath defender.

Forbes stepped up to score for the third match on the trot.

Hill of Beath scored right after the restart with a simple cross from the left which was nodded home by Hay.

Mutch came on for Ryan McDonald at the beginning of the second half and Russell replaced Forbes a few minutes later.

On 48 minutes a run from the half way line by Adamson ended with him scuffing the ball into the net under the body of Small. Glens won a free kick in a dangerous area which was wasted.

A bad mistake in the Glens defence allowed HoB’s Smith to tap the ball into the net.

On the hour mark Glens won their first corner of the second half.

On 65 minutes the away side went further ahead when Adamson scored his second of the match.

A minute later Martin broke clear but was scythed down by Wilson.

Glens conceded a corner in a dangerous position from which Smith scored goal number six.

Cooper replaced McManus and he scored a cracker curling the ball in only to see Hall at full stretch pluck the ball out of the air.

This weekend Glenrothes are away to Dundee Violet with a 2.30pm kick off.
