Glenrothes FC boss Paul Beveridge's mixed emotions after Stuart Cargill double saves point
Veteran Stuart Cargill saved Glenrothes FC from a home league defeat last Saturday as he netted a second half double to earn a 3-3 home East of Scotland Football League first division draw against Whitehill Welfare at Warout Stadium.
Glens went 2-0 down early on but pulled one back through Liam Wilson’s excellent strike, before conceding again but recovering to earn a share of the spoils thanks to the 37-year-old former gaffer’s brace, the second of which was netted 10 minutes from full-time.

“When you’re 2-0 down and you’re 3-1 down you would take the point,” said Glens manager Paul Beveridge. “But I feel like overall performance wise we deserved all three.
"Overall I think we did enough and created enough to win the game. So I’m slightly disappointed to be honest.
"Our first goal was a great strike and then the last one was good as well.
"The wee boy who put the ball through for Cargy’s equaliser, winger Arthur Scott, that was his first involvement in the game. He’d only been on the pitch about a minute.
"He's one of the young boys we’ve had to take on from the under-20s. They folded so we’ve brought him into the first team.
"It was great to get him involved and for him to get that assist with his first touch of the ball.
"Arthur has definitely got something, he’s good technically but not totally ready to be playing first team football but he’ll definitely get minutes.
"And it’s another couple of goals for Cargy – I think that’s six or seven now for him this season. For the limited minutes he’s played, if he can keep scoring at the rate he’s scoring hopefully that will lift us up the table.”
Last weekend’s point means that Glenrothes are 14th in the table with 10 points from 11 fixtures ahead of this weekend’s 3pm Saturday home encounter against a 13th-placed Bathgate Thistle side who are only above them on goal difference.
Beveridge said: “We are improving with every game. I wouldn’t call it a must win game at this point of the season but it’s definitely an important game for us.
"If we play at the levels we’ve been playing at the last couple of weeks then hopefully we’ll be all right. League positions go out the window at times because it depends who shows up on the day.”
