A club spokesman said it was “not the way we would have liked to celebrate the players’ awards but was a successful night under the current situation.”

Four awards were handed out via Zoom; Players’ Player of the year – Lea Schiavone, Supporters’ Player of the year – Fionn McLeod Kay, Committee Player of the year – Stephen King and Top Goalscorer – Scott Russell.

He added: “It’s an important one, so I really appreciate it.

“I want to say thanks to the supporters for coming out to see us every week win, lose or draw.

“It means a lot to us.”

McLeod Kay said he was “very grateful” for his award.

“It really means a lot,” he said. “Me and the boys are absolutely buzzing to get back to it next season.”

King said he was delighted with his award – his first during his time at the club.

“I’ve been here three or four years now and this is my first award, so I’m absolutely buzzing to get it.

“The supporters have been terrific this year and I’m raring to go again next season.

Russell added: “I’m really happy to win this award.

“Being a striker, you’re judged on scoring goals, so it makes me feel good to know I’m doing my job.”
