Dalkeith Thistle 4, Glenrothes Juniors 2
This game proved to be a tale of two halves for the Glens, who were looking for their fifth league win in a row against Dalkeith.
Glenrothes looked eager from the start and almost scored within a minute of kick off.
A Johnny MacRae cross was met at the far side of the box by Callum Kinnes, whose shot went just inches past the post.
The Glens continued to control the game, but it took until the 22nd minute before they took the lead.
The ball was laid off for Steven Leslie just inside the box, and he curled it right over the heads of the Dalkeith defenders and into the far corner of the net.
It did not take long, however, for Dalkeith to equalise.
In the 25th minute, a long ball down field was crossed in, went past the Glens’ defenders and was tapped into the net by Dalkeith’s McNaughton.
Just before half time, the local side retook the lead after a fantastic piece of play by Darren Thomson.
This resulted in a through ball to Ian Griffin, whose shot from 20 yards out squirmed under the arms of the Dalkeith ‘keeper and into the back of the net.
Unfortunately, after a good first half performance, the Glens disappointed themselves as Dalkeith came out the better of the two sides in the second half.
Dalkeith equalised early on after the restart, after a loose ball in the penalty box was eventually scrambled into the back of the net.
Dalkeith continued to control possession into the middle part of the second half and took the lead in the 65th minute.
A through ball went past the Glens defenders and allowed Flynn through for a simple conversion past the Glens ‘keeper.
Another goal was added toDalkeith’s tally in the 85th minute after they were awarded a penalty, which was taken by Pusledski.
Glenrothes continue their travels this weekend when they play Perth-based Jeanfield Swifts in a 2.30p.m. kick off.
