Dundee North End 1, Glenrothes Juniors 2

Glens travelled to Dundee looking for a victory against one of their main relegation rivals.

The Fife side started the game on the front foot when within the first minute an effort from Martin was wide of the target.

Just a minute later Glens took the lead when a corner from Forbes was headed home by Griffin.

The next chance of the game again fell to McComskie but C. Gay saved his header. On fifteen minutes Glens won a free kick from which Forbes found the head of Griffin only for it to just slip past the post.

Glens then had a real strong claim for a penalty when Martin was tumbled to the ground but somehow the referee turned it down, before C. Gay was then called into action making a fine save from Gibb.

At the start of the second half Glens got off to the best possible start when they scored within the first minute. A cross from the right was met by J. Gay who found Meikle to allow him to shoot home.

On 65 minutes Glens had a chance to finish the game off when a run and cross from Martin found Meikle in front of goal but somehow he managed to scoop the ball over the bar.

Ten minutes later the home side got the goal they were looking for when a shot from McComskie was pushed out by C. Gay but only to Njie who tapped the ball home.

There was no further scoring and as the final whistle blew it was joy for the Glens and an excellent victory against a team in the relegation zone.

Glens entertain another relegation threatened side Jeanfield Swifts at Warout on Saturday, kick off 2.30 pm.
