Glenrothes conceded six goals for the second week running in a heavy league defeat to Dundee Violet.

Boss John Martin made one change from the side that were thumped by Hill of Beath in the Scottish Cup with Mutch replacing M.McDonald.

In the first minute, Glens won a free kick 25 yards from goal which Russell shot wide.

A shot from McManus was held by Thain, while at the other end an effort from Dignan was cleared off the line by Russell.

The home side were causing Glens defence problems but a fine run by Mutch found McManus but his shot was saved by Thain.

The home side had the ball in the net on 27 minutes but the ref spotted a handball in the proceedings, however they took the lead a few minutes later when Bremner tried his luck from 20 yards and the ball somehow found the back of the net.

Violet extended their lead when the Glens defence got caught square and Bremner shot home.

Glens changed Napier for Cooper at half time. After the restart, Scott broke clear for the home side but Small parried the ball for the defence to clear.

McManus had the ball in the net but the referee ruled offside. The young forward received a bad injury when the Violet ‘keeper clattered into him and had to be carried off, replaced by Sneddon.

On the hour mark the home side added a third when a defensive error allowed Scott in to score. It was 4-0 on 70 minutes as a cross from the right was headed home by Tovey.

Glens lost a sixth goal when Dundee sub Duncan scored with five minutes left. In the final minute Glens received a penalty from which Russell scored.

This is a result Glens will want to put firmly behind them and will be hoping to do just that as they face Bathgate Thistle at home this Saturday.
