Glens start to look ahead to new year

Glenrothes FC chairman Peter McQuade says the club is already looking ahead to the new season, now that the current campaign has offialy ended.

East of Scotland league sides voted this week to bring an end to the term and conclude league tables on a points per game (PPG) basis.

It means a Premier League title win for Bo’ness and conference wins for Lothian Thistle HV and Tynecastle.

Glens finished a respectable third in Conference B, and Mr McQuade wants the club to build on that momentum when the new season kicks off.

He said: “Behind the scenes co-managers John Martin and Kevin Smith are working hard to ensure we maintain the standards set this season and have succesfully negotiated contract extensions for 90 per cent of the current squad.

“They are in negotaiantions with two or three other players with a view to enhancing the current squad.”

Mr McQuade also extended thanks to fans for their fundraising efforts.
