Thornton Hibs 0 Falkirk JFC 3

The scoreline would suggest that Falkirk had given Thornton a right doing but nothing could be further from the truth.

It was Hibs who enjoyed the bulk of possession but couldn’t convert this into goals mainly due to a strong visiting defence who dealt solidly with everything that was thrown at them.

The first half ended goalless but it looked like only a matter of time until the Hibs took the lead.

Instead it was Allan Scott who put the visitors ahead in the 56th minute with a powerful low drive that Kyle Marley got a hand to but couldn’t keep out.

This lead was doubled in the 78th minute when Marley saved well from Scott only for Graeme Watson to ram the loose ball into the open goal.

Hibs’ day of misery was complete in stoppage time when Alan Sneddon converted Watson’s cross from the right.
