Strathmiglo struggled to break down AMsoccer in the early exchanges, offering some crosses into the box that were well defended.

It was AMsoccer who exerted pressure on the Strathmiglo defence as the young strike force of Appere and Mutch grew into the game and showed their quality and intelligence to create opportunities at goal.

After a period of pressure a well worked throw-in between Morgan and Appere seen the latter cross into the box for Lawson to strike – his first effort was blocked but he reacted quickly to fire the rebound high into the net.

Some good combination play between the AM front players saw Appere cross the ball for Mutch who narrowly missed the header having started the move on the halfway line.

Further chances at goal fell to Kinhart who had a shot blocked and a well worked free kick saw Sharp’s effort saved well by the keeper.

Injuries and tired legs saw the introduction of Player and G Reilly for AMsoccer early in the second half as they replaced Lawson and Appere.

AMsoccer continued to work hard to find the second goal and made the breakthrough when Player recovered a loose ball from an AM corner.

He found Morgan with a first time pass which Morgan controlled then crossed the ball into the box for Watt, who showed great determination to win the ball and direct his header in off the back post.

As the game opened up some neat combination play between AMsoccer’s forwards and midfielders helped to create further opportunities at goal with Player and Reilly having strikes forcing the keeper to make good saves.
