The opening fixtures have been kind to Saints, with the club playing their first three league games at Barnetts Park.

These fixtures will of course even themselves out over the season, but boss Ian Barrett says it’s a good chance for his club to get some points on the board early doors.

On Saturday they host Dalkeith in their opening match.

Boss Barrett said: “It’s all swings and roundabouts with the fixtures because there may be a point towards the end of the season when we’re needing points but playing games away from home.

“But it gives us a good chance to hit the ground running and having the games at home gives us an opportunity to get off to a good start.”

The Saints squad has been bolstered ahead of the new season with the additions of two new players.

Ross Graham, formerly of Montrose and Berwick Rangers, has signed along with Aiden Henry from Dundonald Bluebell.

“I’ve been looking for a player with Ross’s experience, it was just a matter of the right player coming along,” said Barrett.

“Aiden got promoted from the Premier Division last season with Dundonald and has a good pedigree.”

Kick off at Barnetts Park on Saturday is 2.30p.m.
