I'll act on our indiscipline

Gary Naysmith says he won't stand for the lack of discipline which has been creeping into his East Fife side.

The Methil club were left shorthanded at the weekend against Livingston, finishing the game with nine menfollowing red cards to Mark Hurst and Paul McManus.

McManus was given his red for foul and abusive language towards the ref - the same charge levelled at Jonathan Page when he was dismissed the weekend before against Airdrie.

The red cards and subsequent suspensions are an avoidable headache Naysmith can do without.

He said: “We’ve gone from in the last 20 months having no red cards to three in the past two weeks.

“Two of them were for foul and abusive language and I’ll not stand for it.

“It’s a lack of discipline from the players. I can’t condone it as a manager and I’m acting on it.”

With no game on Saturday, East Fife will hold a public training session at Bayview from 10.30am followed by a Q&A with the players and manager at noon.
