The event has been hosted across the Kingdom and aims to introduce young girls to the sport.

In this area, the East Fife Ladies are a win away from collecting their league title so interest in football amongst women and girls is certainly on the rise.

The festival stopped off in Leven with it being one of the most successful held anywhere in Fife.

A spokesman from the event organisers said: “The first, and most important, objective of Live Your Goals is to encourage women and girls to participate in football.

“FIFA and the Scottish FA want to ensure that every girl and woman who wants to play the game has the opportunity to do so.

“The festivals in the Fife clusters have been implemented to allow girls to come along and try football and to be invited to attend their local

“It’s had a huge impact on East Fife Football Club as 17 new girls have joined the club since attending the festival with more also showing an interest in coming along to training,” she said.

“From this we now look like having two new nines teams and a second under 11s team to build for next season.”
