East Fife legend Walter Borthwick passes away
East Fife FC have announced the death of former player Walter Borthwick.
Borthwick made 228 appearances, scoring 35 goals, during his seven years at Bayview.
The Methil club said: "East Fife Football Club would like to pass on our sincere condolences to Walter’s family and friends at this sad time."
Midfielder Borthwick also enjoyed spells with St Mirren and Dunfermline Athletic.
He spent the bulk of the 1980s as a coach at Heart of Midlothian and managed Arbroath in the early 1990s.
