The midfielder made a positive impression in Kirkcaldy with the Dons deciding to bring him back into the fold on Friday.

However, to temper that piece of bad news, John McGlynn has attracted Dundee United's Adam King on loan to the club until the end of the season.

The 25 year old first came to prominence in Hearts under 20 side as a versatile 18 year old, with English Premier League side Swansea City interested in signing him in 2013 before he had played a first team match.

Adam eventually joined Swansea City in January 2014, playing for their under 21 side and winning the U21 Development League in season 2014-15.

The midfielder has been capped by Scotland at U18, U19 and U21 level between 2013 and 2014.

Whilst at Swansea, Adam experienced loan spells in English Football League 1 and 2 with Crewe Alexandra, Southend United, Mansfield Town and Peterborough United, before leaving Swansea to sign for Dundee United in July 2019.

Last season, Adam started a loan spell at SPFL League 2 Queens Park, playing six times for The Spiders before the season was curtailed by the coronavirus pandemic.
