Raith Rovers have paid tribute to a former kitman who passed away this week.

Brian Marr, who died on Tuesday, served at the club from 2006 to 2015.

Known as ‘Gunter’, he brought in to the club by current manager John McGlynn in his first spell at the club.

He remained close friends with all the coaching and backroom staff from that era – catching up regularly with the manager, Paul Smith, Wayne Henderson and Gordon McEwan.

A statement on the club’s website reads: “Brian was a popular figure in the Fife football scene as a former player and manager at junior level,

“Our thoughts are with his wife Linda and daughter Sophie.”
