Jordan just has to be patient

Nathan Austin says his East Fife striker brother Jordan has to be patient to make his mark at the Methil club.

Nathan, who left East Fife for Championship side Falkirk last season, and netted a double at the weekend, sees similarities between he and his younger brother.

Before really making his mark in the first team, Nathan was used sparingly like Jordan has been this season

And the striker reckons his brother needs to do the same, and be on his toes when used by boss Barry Smith.

Speaking to our sister paper the Falkirk Herald, Nathan said: “My brother isn’t playing much part at the moment, and he just has to bide his time.

“I’ve had to do it in the past and it’s just a part of football.

“I’ve been in his shoes before.

“I’ll speak to him if he needs any advice off of me, we’re quite close but I won’t be boasting about the two tap-ins I scored [at Ayr].

“There’s no rivalry between us, I’ve always been older and he’s been chasing me but he’s a good young player.”
