Junior giants prove too much for Kennoway

The visitors took the lead in the ninth minute when Davie Winters netted.

Band then had the chance to equalise when he collected Wilson`s pass checked inside the defender only to fire his shot against Longmuir`s legs.

Pollok doubled the lead inside 35th minute with Winters again involved as referee Peter Stuart deemed that he had been infringed by Brewster, and a penalty was awarded.

Tam Hanlon stepped up, only to see his spot-kick ricochet of the post.

The full-back’s blushes were spared by Kieran McAleenan who was first to react and lash home.

It was a game that had a good flow and KSH felt aggrieved yet again as this time Shaw jinked his way inside the penalty area looked to be fouled but the man that mattered again decided against awarding KSH a penalty.

A neat passing move brought about goal number three, Bradley’s pass with Davie Winters setting the winger one-on-one with Robbie Paterson, and he made no mistake.

It was 4-0 before half-time, Monti and Kieran Band came together inside the box,this time the ref had no hesitation awarding the visitors second penalty.

Winters took over duties from the penalty mark, sending Paterson the wrong way.

The second period began with Monti cutting in from the right to curl a left-footer over Paterson from 18 yards and making it five.

The sixth goal arrived when Monti showed tenacity to charge down a clearance from Paterson, the ball spinning out to Robbie Winters on the right.

The ex-Scotland international laid the ball off to brother Davie who gratefully completed his hat-trick.

‘Lok’s final goal of the afternoon came in the 62nd minute via a stroke of good fortune, the ball breaking off the referee , eventually to Davie Winters.

The striker showed clever footwork to draw the Hearts defence towards him leaving Monti in space to be picked out and notch his brace.

Despite the scoreline, the homesters continued to plug away and got their just rewards in the 68th minute, Gavin Gray cutting inside Hanlon to loop a shot into the far corner.

Pollok were reduced to 10 men in the 77th minute, Bradley sent off for a challenge on Band.

Star made the numerical advantage count in the 82nd minute when they rounded off the afternoon’s scoring.

Scott Young was allowed space by the ‘Lok rearguard to pick his spot and fire home.
