The Treaton Park side, formed a few years back when Kennoway Amateurs and Star Hearts merged, will aim to join an ever increasing flood of east of Scotland junior clubs to depart those ranks and enter the senior game.

In a statement released this week, Kennoway confirmed that the club’s board hopes to have the side in the EoS set-up for the start of next season.

The club said: “It’s been a hard decision to make after the events of Tuesday’s East Region Junior meeting, but the club have decided to resign from the East Region at the end of the current season and Kenoway Star Hearts will be applying to East Of Scotland League for season 2020/2021.”

Kennoway currently sit ninth in the McBookie.com South Superleague, having won four of the 18 games they’ve played this season.

They were without a game at the weekend but will aim to resume their campaign this Saturday when they travel to face local rivals Thornton Hibs.

Thornton sit mid-table in the division and go into the game 15 points better off than Kennoway Star Hearts having played three game less.

Kick off at Memorial Park is scheduled for 2.30pm.
