Both teams crashed out of the Scottish Cup the previous week so were looking to get back to winning ways.

Forfar took the game by the scruff of the neck early on as they opened the scoring after three minutes when a quick move down the right allowed Reynolds a chance to lift the ball over Paterson for a sublime finish.

A second goal did come and this time it was Walls who expertly clipped the ball into the roof of the net from eighteen yards to give Forfar a much deserved two goal lead after fifteen minutes.

KSH management made a slight reshuffle in formation and they then started to get a foothold in the match.

A succession of set pieces saw chances for Gay and Wilson but both were blocked as they stepped up the pressure.

KSH managed to claw a goal back with Band turning provider as he played a pin point pass through the defence for Wilson to race through and slot home.

As much as the first half saw a series of chances and open attacking play the second half started off somewhat cagily as the play became disjointed as the players got bogged down in battles all over the pitch.

Very little was created compared to the first half as any attack from either side broke down.

Shots from distance were going to be of the spectacular variety to beat either keeper as first Shaw then Craig saw efforts saved.

Equally at the other end Paterson was dealing with a few similar efforts in the latter stages.

The hosts were content to sit on their lead as the time slipped away. A Lee header was deflected over for a corner and then a Simpson free kick was saved .

Despite their efforts KSH were to rue their opening fifteen minutes of the game as Forfar leapfrogged them in the league table to go second.
