Collins had a glimpse of goal inside the second minute when he received a pass from Watson but the midfielder saw his effort charged down.

Another pass from Watson saw the ball arrive at the feet of Balmer inside the six yard box. Again the KSH effort was blocked.

On the odd occasion Haddington ventured into the Kennoway defensive area they were denied by a very resolute home defence.

A fine passing move involving Griffin, Kay and Collins saw the ball delivered into the feet of Mansouri.

The striker took a touch before hitting a shot from an acute angle forcing the save from Cornet.

Haddington’s best chance of the half saw Hutchison hit a shot high and to the left of Brodie but the Kennoway shot stopper showed his agility with a good save.

Two minutes into the second half Bryce bustled his way past a few defenders, again bringing out a save from Cornet.

Three minutes later Haddington took the lead. A corner from the left was swung invitingly into the penalty area where McGarry powered home a header, beating his marker to the ball.

The goal gave the visitors a surge in confidence and ten minutes later they almost grabbed a second with a powerful shot from the edge of the 18 yard box that cannoned back off the post.

With ten minutes remaining the points were secured when Auriemma crashed home a free kick from 20 yards high into the corner of the goal, leaving Brodie helpless.
