Kirkcaldy and Dysart Football Club is well on the way to achieving the goals that were set off the pitch at the start of last season.

Club chairman Scott Jackson said the committee sat down and listed targets which would build foundations for the club’s long-term future.

Now, as the team get ready to make the step up from the Juniors to the East of Scotland league, he said they are on track to meet their objectives.

“Much work has been done off the field,” he said.

Work should start in the next couple of weeks on the perimeter fence once lockdown restrictions are lifted.

“This has been an ongoing project over the last two years and a lot of hard work has gone into making this happen.

Planning is at final stages and we should see this completed by around autumn.

“The new sponsors lounge/hospitality cabin has already been sited and work on modifications is in the planning.

“It will also be ready for the start of the new season.”

Considerable time and effort has been spent upgrading the facilities and infrastructure around the ground so Mr Jackson says the club has decided to invest in a high level security camera system which will be installed in the coming weeks.

He added: “Obviously none of our goals are been achieved without help and support, and we are extremely grateful to all the local businesses who have agreed to giving not just financial help but also supplying resource and equipment to carry out the works on the grounds infrastructure.

“We have been overwhelmed with the support the club has received, a massive thanks to all of our sponsors and commercial partners.

“Thank you to those sponsors who have come on board this season once more, both old and new.”

The club will continue with Window Store as its main sponsor having agreed another deal for the next two years and local businessman Alex Penman will continue to offer financial support.

Mr Jackson said: “I would also like to thank our committee and management team for working so hard to move the club forward.

“We all share the same passion and vision and if we carry on with the same enthusiasm I have no doubt this club will have a great future.”

The club also has openings for new volunteers as it looks ahead to the new season.

“We do still have a requirement for additional committee members and if anyone thinks they can make a positive contribution to the club then please get in touch,” Mr Jackson said.

“We also have an immediate requirement for a Social Media professional who can help raise the club’s profile and social media coverage.

“Our management team have also been working extremely hard building a strong squad which will enable us to compete at a high level in the East of Scotland League next season.

“Craig Ness and his team are continuing to attract new players to the club and their efforts are much appreciated.”

Mr Jackson said he was delighted with the progress that has been made but said there was “a lot more still to do”.

He said: “ Kirkcaldy and Dysart FC will remain committed, focused, strong and most importantly, together.

“Hopefully it won’t be much longer until we can open the gates and welcome you all once again to Alex Penman Park.

“In the meantime please stay safe.”
