Good afternoon
We are at The Tony Macaroni Arena for the round three Scottish Cup clash between Livingston and Raith Rovers. The Kirkcaldy side are mounting a series promotion bid from the Scottish Championship and look a strong bet for the play-offs, while Livvy are stil basking in the plaudits garnered by securing a top six finish in the SPL. We’ll aim to bring you all the action as it happens via our live blog.
Raith confidence
Fired over
Raith Rovers make a move forward right from the kick-off but the ball goes high over the bar, prompting some colourful debate among both sets of players.
Off the line
Robust defending was needed by Raith Rovers after five minutes when Nicky Devlin sent a cross in from the right which was cleared only as far as Jason Holt; however, the Livvy man’s effort was blocked. Devlin sent a header towards goal soon afterwards from a corner which was headed off the line by Dylan Tait.
13: Goal Raith!
After 13 minutes, Lewis Vaughan worked his free kick magic again for Raith Rovers, with an angled effort from near the edge of the box. No chance for home ‘keeper Robbie McCrorie. The stopper made a very impressive save moments later from an effort by Reghan Tumilty.
17: Hendery hit
Hendry cut in from the right flank after a good run to try another effort on goal, but this one was relatively simple for McCrorie.
20: Livi press
Jay Emmanuel-Thomas fired a shot into the side netting, with the help of a touch from Jamie MacDonald, as Livingston hunted for the leveller.
28: Davo clears
Experienced defender Iain Davidson, on from the start as a late replacement for Kieran MacDonald, started a promising- looking move for Raith from his own half but the ball was given away and the veteran rearguard man was back to clear, as Emmanuel Thomas made another attempt on goal for the hosts. The big Livi striker almost headed Craig Sibbald’s corner home soon afterwards but Brad Spence cleared off the line.
