Soon after a shot on the break at goal, saved by McCrorie, the injured Jamie Gullan was replaced for Raith by Manny Duku. Referee Madden had earlier flashed a yellow card at one of the Rovers players, possibly Hendry.

45: Half time; Livingston 0, Raith Rovers 0

The first half concludes quite literally with a swerving, hopeful shot from Raith’s Regan Hendry which McCrorie skilfully pushed away to his right. There wasn’t time to take the corner kick.

Livingston did most of the pressing in the first half but find themselves trailing to a side a division below them thanks to one exquisite piece of skill - another of Lewis Vaughan’s specialist free kicks, which seem to fool everyone else in the stadium. Rovers have defended solidly but they know they’ll face a massive challenge from the Premier League side in the second half. One-nil to Rovers at the interval.

Nicky Devlin and Kyle Benedictus were each hurt in a collision as they challenged for the ball but both able to continue. Livi sent on Josh Mullin for Alan Forrest soon afterwards.

70: Goal Livingston!

Livingston had struggled to break down Raith’s dogged resistance but the equaliser arrived in the 70th minute as Jack Fitzwater fired home through a crowded box from a set play.

70: Home replacement

Livingston sub Matej Poplatnik took over from Emmanuel-Thomas soon after the equaliser.

Livingston continued a wave of attacks as extra time seemed to be looming. Holt found Devlin with a quite superb 40-yard pass on the right but excellent Raith challenging cleared the danger.

89: Double Raith subs

With the final minute approaching, Lewis Vaughan and Kai Kennedy were replaced for Rovers by Gozie Ugwu and Dan Armstrong.

Around four minutes of additional time were played, with Livi’s JAckson Longridge needing a spell of treatment near the end. It finished 1-1; extra time beckons.

4.55pm Extra time begins

An additional 30 minutes get under way at the Tony Macaroni Arena.
