Young winger Chris Johnston (21) has put pen to paper on a one-year deal at Stark’s Park following his recent release from Kilmarnock.

Johnston made his Killie debut at the age of 17 and made 65 appearances in the Scottish Premiership for the Rugby Park side, scoring five goals.

He has not played a first team match since suffering a cruciate ligament injury on the opening day of last season.

However, he has since fought back to fitness and returned to Development League action before the end of the campaign.

Prior to his injury, Johnston was considered one of Killie’s most promising youngsters, and he has also featured five times for the Scotland U19s.

Raith had hoped to make a second signing announcement later this afternoon but this has been delayed.
