The club unveiled striker Manny Duku and Reghan Tumilty at Stark’s Park this week, with the McGlynn saying he was “delighted” to have the duo sign for the club, adding that it was a “mental” time in the transfer market.

“It’s crazy the amount of agents and players that you get coming to you,” he said, “but I’ve known Reghan for a good wee while and obviously we were looking for a natural right back and he fits the bill.

“I think he’s been improving over the years. When I first saw him he was breaking into the Ross County team when he was quite young a few years ago.

“We had a few players that we were looking at but we chose to go with Reghan. He’s at a good age and like I say he’s improving all the time.

“We’re an attacking team and we like our full backs to get forward. Kieran MacDonald had an exceptional season last year at left back and if we can balance the team with that at right back it’ll be perfect.

“I think we’re getting him at the right time.”

McGlynn revealed that had managed to sign striker Duku at the second attempt.

“We tried to get him about a year ago but we didn’t manage to,” he said.

“He’s 6’3”, he’s a big lad and he gives us another option. We’re far from being a long ball team and just getting it up the park, but there are times when you need someone to relieve that pressure.

“Sometimes you do need to get the ball up from the goalkeeper and have someone who is going to win some headers for you and give you another dimension.

“If we get balls in to the box we now have someone for defenders to contend with. I’m sure he’ll cause problems and I think he’ll be a good foil for the likes of Lewis Vaughan to link up with.

“But he’s more than that, he’s very good with the ball at his feet.

“He fits the bill and now it’s up to everyone to work their socks off when we get back to training, look after themselves properly and hit the ground running.”
