AM were strong from the off and got in behind the home defence regularly with the final ball not matching the movement of those in the penalty area.

The scoring was opened when a long throw in was flicked on and Watt was perfectly positioned to turn the ball into the net.

AM would lose that lead only five minutes later though, as the home striker sneaked in behind the defenders to nod home a deep cross.

Only two minutes later, Methilhil took the lead as their number 9 cleverly turned Watt before smashing the ball through Penman’s legs.

Credit must go to this young AMsoccer team for responding positively to the setback and skipper, Lawson burst forward from the halfway line in possession before lifting a beauty of a lob over the goalkeeper from 30 yards to level the scores.

AMsoccer were hoping to be a little bit sharper in both penalty boxes during the second half and after having plenty of the ball in the first 10 minutes, Aedan Brown restored the lead by curling an excellent 25 yard free kick over the wall and into the net.

For the next 20 minutes, the game was ebbing and flowing with AM probing for the next goal but they were stung when a cross from right out on the touchline sailed over Penman and into the net for 3-3.

If that was disappointing, then it was to get tougher, as a minute later, Methilhill won a corner that was attacked well.

The initial header was blocked but the rebound was smashed home to put the home side in front again.

The visitors sent Sharp up front to offer some advantage from a series of late crosses and in the 90th minute, a deep cross was contested by Sean Grant and the loose ball dropped to Sharp, who scored to level at 4-4. Deep into injury time, AM won a corner and with the initial delivery cleared, Brown swung the ball back into the area, where Sharp was well placed to head downwards and beyond the reach of the players on the goal line.
