Monster challenge set to kick off

At 2.00pm on Friday, February 17, the virtual challenge will start in Dingwall and will come to an end at 2.30pm on Saturday Stark’s Park, taking in all 42 Scottish Professional Football League grounds along the way.

That’s a distance of 1390 kilometres in only 24 hours, through a combination of walking, running and cycling.

Past FFIT participants and foundation members will work together to complete the challenge, with the support of Alan Goodsir and his team at GYM64.

A spokesman for the foundation said: “We’ve now recruited our team of 30 participants for this challenge and team 24/42 are ready to go.

“Our mission to raise awareness of the fantastic work that Paul Doig and the RRCF do in the community and raise funds to futureproof the foundation, is well underway and the fundraising doesn’t stop there.

“We have our after challenge fundraising party organised at The Royal Hotel in Dysart from 7pm until late on Saturday.

“Tickets are now available for £5, which includes live music from local soul and funk legends ‘Tina and the Groove’ and we’ll even throw in a buffet.”
