Carstairs arrives with a terrific reputation in the game locally and his addition is a massive coup for the Glens.

He spent five successful years with Barry Ferguson’s side, having also played with Thornton Hibs, Glenrothes Juniors, Ballingry Rovers, Dundonald Bluebell.

Co managers John Martin and Kevin Smith couldn’t hide their delight at the signing.

A joint statement from the two said: “It’s great to have signed another local Glenrothes player back to Warout.

“We are delighted to have Muzz onboard as it shows the ambition of the club to support us in our vision and journey.

“He comes back to us with a lot more experience under his belt and will help the younger players.”

“Welcome to Warout, home of The Glens, and more importantly welcome to The Glens family.”

The club has also this week welcomed the news that, as part of the country’s move into Phase 3 of our move out of lockdown, youth football sides can also meet again.

The Young Glens have been out of action, along with all other football squads, since lockdown came into force.

Phase 3, though, allows for a lifting of some restrictions with children between 5-17 years able to take part in contact training, train in larger groups and play small sided games.
