My best is yet to come

The striker has been a standout for the Fifers during their recent impressive run of form and helped himself to both goals in Saturday’s 2-0 win over Albion Rovers.

His strikes couldn’t have been more different - the first a goal of the season contender and the second a tap in to an empty net.

It showed two different sides to the forward who, after returning at the turn of the year from long term injury, reckons there’s still far more to come.

He said: “I’m getting there but still don’t think I’m 100 per cent yet.

“With every game I’m getting used to the boys playing around me.

“It was a bad injury I had and took a lot out of me.

“Whether I’m back to 100 per cent before the end of the season I don’t know, but I’m happy with where my progress is at the moment.”

The striker admitted it was an impressive showing from the Methil club at the weekend, with some of the football played really catching the eye.

It was also the perfect response to Tuesday’s 3-0 defeat to Alloa Athletic at the Indodrill Stadium.

“I thought we were unbelievable,” said the striker.

“The performance was similar to the second half against Queen’s Park in the way we were passing the ball.

“We created a few chances but it took something different to break them down.

“My first goal just came out of nowhere and the second one was just a mix up between the defender and the goalie but I’ll take it.”
