Willie Wright and Kyle Fraser moved from their familiar positions into the defence and Jamie Gay re-joined the squad after a period out through injury.

Ryan Smart, who had been playing well in midfield, picked up an injury around the half hour mark forcing Hudson to introduce Jamie Gay into the game earlier than would have been ideal.

Gay made his mark on the game shortly after coming on picking up a pass from Skinner just outside the box. He wasn’t closed down quickly enough allowing him the opportunity to turn and lift a beautiful shot into the top corner.

The second half was only five minutes old when Newburgh doubled their lead with Scot Sutherland crafting an opportunity for himself with his never say die attitude up front.

A poor pass back from Hynd to Harkness in the visitors goal allowed Sutherland to use his pace to quickly press the goalie.

The keeper tried to move the ball from his left to his favoured right foot, Sutherland got across the keeper as he cleared it and intercepted the ball and slotted the ball into the open goal.
