The Bayview boss has certainly been active, this week adding Chris Kane, Willie Muir and Chris Duggan to his squad.

Naysmith is still hopeful he can retain the services of Kyle Wilkie for another campaign but is facing competition from full-time clubs for the midfielder’s signature.

However, the boss is happy with the business he’s completed so far.

He said: “Willie is been the most consistent ‘keeper in League Two in terms of clean sheets for the past two seasons.

“We found last year that having two ‘keepers competing for the jersey benefited us.

“Chris Kane is maybe a player the fans won’t know so much about but I’d say he’s similar in a way to Pat Slattery.

“He’s really versatile and can play a holding midfield role and as a centre back.

“We’ll be going with a small squad again so that versatility will be crucial for us.

“Chris Duggan is a player who always seemed to do really well against us.

“I have offers in for another two players at the moment and if we can get them, and Kyle stays, I think that will do and I’ll move into the loan market again.”

The club’s pre-season campaign kicks off with a friendly against Spartans on July 2.

“I’ve only arranged three friendly games because with us having four to play in the League Cup, that’s seven in July which is a lot for a part-time club,” said Naysmith.
