Canniepairt boss John Ovenstone is still keen to add a few older heads to his side ahead of the new season starting next weekend.
The hard work is pretty much in the bank now with the final stages of pre-season almost complete.
Ovenstone’s men have one pre-season friendly still to play, this Saturday at home to Glenafton, before the efforts start to return to the Super League at the first time of asking.
On Wednesday night Tayport played their penultimate pre-season game, drawing with Jeanfield Swifts 1-1.
A second half opener from Dale Reid handed Tayport to initiative before a defensive error allowed former ‘Port man Robbie Holden to level.
The manager told the Herald last week he still planned on adding further recruits to his side - and that hasn’t changed.
Ovenstone said: “It was a shame that the mistake prevented us from recording the win which I thought we deserved.
“Overall, I’ve been delighted with the way we’ve been working for each other during pre-season.
“We have a youthful squad and all of the players are buying into the way we want them to play.
“We maybe still need to add a bit more experience to the squad, but I’m very positive about the future.”
Kick off at the Canniepairt on Saturday is 2.30pm with prices £3 and £1.
