Martin and his co-team boss Kevin Smith have been hard at work over the past two weeks securing players from last season as well as adding new faces.

In total nine players have put pen to paper over the past two weeks, the latest being Andy McDonald who has signed for another two years at the Warout Stadium.

Martin said he was happy to keep the core of the team for the next two years and feels the club is heading in the right direction in the East of Scotland League.

“The players can see the difference in where the club is wanting to go, off the field as well as on it,” he said.

“The committee are putting bin a lot of hard work behind the scenes and the players see that.

“We’ve done up the dressing rooms and we’re getting a brand new kit. It’s small things like that.

“We’re trying to be more professional and the players see that and they buy into what we are trying to achieve.”

Martin hopes to have his squad in place for the beginning of the new season and has his fingers crossed for an early October kick off in Conference B.

“Kevin and I think that realistically we’ll probably start back as the same time as the lower leagues around October 17.

“If we start before, then happy days because the boys are itching to get back.

“When the season ended we were on a wee run and pushing for second place so it was disappointing to finish the way it did.

“We just need to push for promotion this season.”
