Recent results have seen ‘Port lose a little ground in the promotion race, so John Ovenstone will be hoping to see his charges get back in contention with a win tomorrow afternoon.

Of course, that will be easier said than done and Saints will be highly motivated to put one over on their rivals.

Both clubs were relegated from the top flight last season, having been promoted the year before and relegated the year before that.

So, fortunes have been mirrored in recent times and establishment in the top flight is the long-term goal.

While Tayport’s recent form has been mixed, St Andrews have been on a downward spiral since the end of August.

In fact, thirteen of their fifteen points came in that month, so Saints have only mustered two points from their next seven fixtures.

In terms of team news, John Ovenstone will be hoping to have more of a squad from which to select.

Alan Tulleth was not quite ready to return last week, while club captain Scott McDowell also missed out.

Sergio Alvarez was on the bench, following his injury, but did not get on at Treaton Park.

Kick-off at the Canniepairt is scheduled for 2.00pm.
