Here is a brief round up from both games:

Raith Rovers 2-6 Falkirk

Rovers conceded six goals in Saturday’s pre-season friendly at home to last season’s League 1 title rivals Falkirk. The first chance of the game fell to the visitors when Callumn Morrison had an effort cleared off the line early on after rounding Robbie Thomson. The biggest positive of the match for Rovers came when young attacker Quinn Coulson gave the home side the lead, scoring on his debut for the senior team. The lead didn’t last long, however, before former East Fife striker and Rovers target Anton Dowds tapped in a quick breakaway from just two yards out.Mark Durnan’s effort from a Morrison corner earned a penalty for handball and Morrison swept the Bairns ahead.Rovers equalised again with a spot-kick of their own, converted by Regan Hendry, when Morgaro Gomis was penalised in the second half but, from then on, the Bairns took control.A barging run from one of Falkirk’s attacking trialists carved space for Morrison to loop the ball back into the box and Dowds to skim in with a touch from close range, followed by a top corner effort from Aidan Connolly to make it 4-2.Aidan Keena headed in on his debut before fellow sub Robbie Leitch scored with the pick of the bunch with the final kick, ending a flowing move with Scott Mercer, Conor Sammon and Connolly for number six.In the end it was a result to forget for Rovers which they swiftly did as the moved on to their next pre-season encounter against Stenhousemuir just three days later.

Raith Rovers 5-2 Stenhousemuir

Rovers and Stenhosuemuir shared seven goals at Stark’s Park on Tuesday night as the home side saw off their League 2 opponents 5-2. The hosts had the best of the early chances seeing efforts go wide or deflected and were inches away from a lead when Fernandy Mendy bulleted a header off the cross bar from a corner. Rovers continued to have all the chances and the lead eventually came on 22 minutes when Reghan Tumilty cut in from the right and slipped a shot from 18 yards low past experienced Stenny keeper Graeme Smith and in to the bottom corner. Just two minutes later though and the visitors were level as former Rovers striker Greig Spence picked up a lose ball just inside the box before calmly finding the back of the net from 15 yards. Another two minutes later and Stenny were in front as former Swansea City duo Botti Biabi and Ryan Blair combined with the former cutting back to the latter to side foot in from 15 yards. Raith were back level before half time though as Manny Duku’s shot looked to have been dealt with by Smith who got a strong palm to it but the ball found it’s way in to the net. Stenny started the second half with two efforts but Rovers were able to net three unanswered goals for the win. The first came as Grant Anderson stabbed the ball in to an empty goal from close range after Stenny’s trialist keeper failed to deal with a cross under pressure from Duku. A rocket from Dan Armstrong from 20 yards left the keeper no chance to make it 4-2 and Anderson completed the scoring when he picked up Armstrong’s cross at the back post and struck the ball in to the far side of the net.
