The Press understands that Ray McKinnon is finalising a move for 21-year-old Leicester City forward Harry Panayiotou, a Saint Kitts and Nevis international.

The length of the deal is not yet known but Raith hope to have the youngster signed in time to face Queen of the South at Stark’s Park on Saturday.

Rovers boss McKinnon stepped up his search for a striker after Saturday’s goalless draw with Dumbarton made it four games without a goal for the Kirkcaldy side.
Panayiotou has progressed through the youth ranks at Leicester and scored on his only senior appearance for the Foxes, which came against Leeds United on the final day of the 2011-12 season.

The striker is a regular scorer for Leicester’s under 21 side and was named the club’s U21 player of the year last season.

Panayiotou has also earned six caps for Saints Kitts and Nevis, scoring four times including a hat-trick in a World Cup qualifer against Turks & Caicos in March 2015.
