The 33-year-old shot stopper, an ever present under Ray McKinnon this season, has committed himself to the Kirkcaldy side until summer 2018.

The former Hamilton goalie, nicknamed Cat, has risen to the challenge of arguably the toughest job at Stark’s Park by ousting fans favourite and Hall of Fame inductee David McGurn from the number one jersey.

After enduring a difficult first season at Raith blighted by injury, Cuthbert worked tirelessly over the summer in a bid to regain his fitness and form and has won over the Rovers faithful with impressive performances in the push for the play-offs.

Cuthbert will make his 50th competitive appearance for Raith in tomorrow’s match away to Queen of the South.
