It said: “After two years guiding the Club through a very difficult period from the lows of the Alloa playoff defeat in May 2018, to the highs of promotion to the Championship in April this year and the uncertainty around the various challenges that followed, Bill Clark has decided to step down as Chairman and as a Director of Raith Rovers with immediate effect.

“The Club would like to thank Bill for all his hard work and his strong leadership during this demanding period in its history.”

The statement added that John Sim will take over as Chairman for the “immediate future”, Steven MacDonald will continue as Vice Chairman with David Sinton taking over the role of Club and Company Secretary.

The Press understands that in a further change in the Stark’s Park boardroom, former Kirkcaldy 4 All manager Bill Harvey has joined the club as General Manager.
