Funds have been pouring in at an overwhelming rate since the Just Giving page was launched by supporters' director Andy Mill on Tuesday.

With the initial target now surpassed, the club has raised the bar to £50,000 in the hope of continuing to plug the shortfall caused by the coronavirus crisis.

Four figure donations have come from supporters groups with Neebors of Geordie Munro contributing £1500, while Rovers Down South, who had to cancel an upcoming tribute night, adding £1000 to the tally.

Fife's Finest also chipped in with £570, with a combined £720 coming from the FLS Lounge, while the newly formed Lewis Vaughan Supporters Club also donated £300.

Famous crime writer Ian Rankin also posted £500 towards the total, while fan Blair Hopcroft held a Twitter auction for a replica Coca-Cola Cup final winning jersey, which raised £250, with the winning bid coming from fellow supporter Doug James.

In total, 456 fans have now donated with the number continuing to rise by the hour after chairman Bill Clark revealed in an interview to Raith TV that the club stands to lose around £200,000 due to restrictions imposed by the outbreak.

In addition to the online crowdfunding, supporters have also been handing money into the office at Stark's Park with retired Kirkcaldy couple, Arthur & Helen Lundie, dropping off a £1000 donation, a gesture the club branded "amazing".

One envelope was also left with a message stating, "Not much but I will give another £20 on pension date" - a sentiment which sums up the community response to the Rovers appeal.

Rovers chairman Clark told Raith TV: "The donations have been a Godsend to the club but also a fantastic illustration of our supporters and what they are about.

"We really, really appreciate it and going forward that money will be very important to us in terms of helping to pay for the players' wages and other bills that we've got."
