The cash pledge – a combined profit from previous years’ shows – will be put towards the £50,000 crowdfunding target aimed at helping the club through the football shutdown.

In addition, November’s sold-out show at the Adam Smith Theatre will be turned into a fundraiser marking the 25th anniversary of the club’s famous European run.

Previous events have run on minimal profit and involved two VIP guest speakers, but this year the stage will be dedicated solely to Rovers with all money raised going back to the club.

John Greer, from the Hall of Fame committee, said: “We thought it was the right time to put something back into the club.

“Everybody involved in the Hall of Fame has the Rovers at heart and we all want to do our bit.

“We are sure fans will get behind the change to this year’s format and look forward to hearing tales from the European adventure.”

The 2020 Raith Hall of Fame is scheduled for Monday, November 9.
