Raith Rovers sign former Hearts and Falkirk keeper Jamie MacDonald

Raith Rovers have announced their first new signing of the summer with goalkeeper Jamie MacDonald arriving on a two year deal.

The 34-year old former Hearts stopper spent last season on-loan at Alloa Athletic from Premiership side Kilmarnock.

Originally from Broxburn, the Scotland Under 21 cap has also turned out for Queen of the South and Falkirk during his career.

He becomes manager John McGlynn's first signing of the transfer window and follows the news yesterday of the resigning of nine out of contract players.MacDonald spoke to RaithTV about joining the Kirkcaldy side saying: "I've known John (McGlynn) a long time.

"He was my first profesional coach at Hearts when I was 16 and I worked with him six/seven years there.

"That was a big pull for me, he's a fantastic coach and somebody I've always enjoyed working with."
