Raith Rovers’ tribute to kitman Ronnie

Raith Rovers have paid tribute after the passing of a well-known club volunteer.

Ronnie Pollock, a long–standing member of the Raith Rovers Supporters Club who rarely missed a match, home or away, passed away on Monday, April 27 at Victoria Hospital. He was 69.

The father of the club’s kitman, Simon, Ronnie would assist with the Rovers players’ kit.

A club spokesman said: “Ronnie was in the kit van to every away match ahead of the players, doing everything required to ensure that the team and backroom staff were kitted out in every aspect of their strips and kit.

“Ronnie became known as an invaluable asset to the club.

“He will be sorely missed by players, coaches, backroom staff, stadium staff and volunteers.”

Ronnie is survived by his wife Linda, and sons Simon and Nathan.
