A civic reception for Raith Rovers was held at Kirkcaldy’s Town House on Monday evening to celebrate the team’s victory over Rangers in the Ramsdens Cup final last month.
The private reception was hosted by Jim Leishman, the Provost of Fife and among those attending were players, officials and local politicians.
At the event Kirkcaldy MP and lifelong Raith Rovers fan Gordon Brown praised the ‘heroic’ Rovers squad before presenting commemorative medals and action photographs from the game to each of the Raith players and members of the management team.
The Raith team secured a 1-0 victory in extra time at the cup final against Rangers at Easter Road on April 6.
It was the club’s first cup win since the 1994 Coca-Cola Cup.
