Cuthbert in temporary charge as Raith confirm Smith departure

The board of directors has issued a statement this evening confirming that they had 'reluctantly accepted' the manager's resignation.

Assistant manager Cuthbert will be caretaker boss for the trip to Ross County in the Irn-Bru Cup this Saturday, while the board considers its options.

The statement read: "The Board of Raith Rovers Football Club have this evening reluctantly accepted the resignation of manager Barry Smith.

"Kevin Cuthbert has agreed to be in charge of all football matters for the game on Saturday against Ross County.

"The board are now considering all options for taking the club forward. Further information will be issued in due course."
