RAITH Rovers’ longest serving player has left the club to sign for first division rivals Dundee.
Iain Davidson was confirmed as a Dundee player today (Monday), calling time on an eight-year spell at Stark’s Park, during which he played both in defence and midfield.
Raith had offered the 28-year-old a lucrative two-year contract culminating in a testimonial in a bid to tempt him to stay, but Davidson has decided to seek a fresh challenge at Dens Park.
Dundee chief executive Scot Gardiner said: “Iain is a very welcome addition to what is looking like a formidable squad.”
Davidson, who initially signed for Raith under Claude Anelka in July 2004, made 290 appearances for the Kirkcaldy side, scoring 12 goals.
