Raith Rovers have parted company with manager Grant Murray with immediate effect.
He has left his position at Stark’s Park and won’t see out the season this weekend away to Dumbarton.
Murray’s final game in charge was the poor 4-0 home defeat at the hands of relegation threatened Livingston -a result, and, more importantly, a performance, loudly condemned by fans at the final whistle. It was their fifth straight defeat.
His three years at the helm produced a fantastic Ramsdens Cup win over Rangers, and two Scottish Cup quarter-final appearances - but league form was poor with the play-offs missed, and many performances failed to impress the fans.
A statement from the board said: ‘‘Recent performances and results have led to today’s parting of ways. Grant has been an extremely hard working manager, and we wish him well in his future career within football.’’
First team coach Laurie Ellis will be in the dug out for the final game of the 2014-15 campaign - an away trip to Dumbarton.
The match has a lunch time kick-off.
